Senior Reporting Specialist

About the team:


This position is for a Reporting Specialist role in the Data Analytics Reporting and Tools team (DART) within the Tech and Ops COO Division. The COO provides central governance and support for Business, Resource, Portfolio and Financial Management, and the day-to-day operations for all Technology, Firm Resilience and Operations Super-Divisions and their Divisions. You will be a supporting member in the DART team, interfacing primarily with the local team members and team leads located in NY, London and Montreal. The team works in an agile environment in delivering its list of current projects, as well as prioritized and backlog items.


What you will need to do in the role, and we will help you to do it:


  • Create Tableau dashboards based on defined business requirements
  • Automation of daily extracts of data into files, databases, and SharePoint
  • Building, maintaining and automating the production of Financials, Headcount and other types of reporting packs
  • Reconciliation of daily data feeds
  • Building data models and analytics
  • Preparation, management and improvement of Tableau dashboards
  • Presenting, training and communicating Tableau dashboard rollouts
  • Compile and prepare standard and ad hoc reports and analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • The candidate should be flexible, highly adaptable to a fast-paced environment

  • Able to work in a global virtual team, sometimes across multiple time zones


What skills and experience are essential for the position?


  • 5+ years of experience in creating Tableau dashboards with complex designs, metrics and analytics
  • 2 years of experience working with Qlikview dashboards
  • 2+ years SharePoint experience
  • Extensive experience automating daily data extracts, reconciliations and report production
  • Experience in Data Science techniques and tools for data preparation and clean-up (Knime, Alteryx)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent root cause analysis skills and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Critical thinking and translation of business needs into technical requirements


If you have experience in one of these it is a plus:


  • Experience working with big data and ability to produce analytics of these data sets
  • Python
  • Experience with industry standard financial and headcount terminology
  • Experience working with other BI tools
  • VBA
