Site Reliability Engineer
We are looking for an enthusiastic Site Reliability Engineer to a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments, and individuals.
The role is within the Reliability and Production Engineering organization’s Observability Fleet, joining a team of 5 in Budapest, working on internally owned and developed products and services.
The position will include developing in Python or Java and potentially KDB in the future.
Candidates will get exposure to both open source industry standard technologies such as Kafka and MongoDB, externally sourced vendor products such as StreamBase and DataWatch, and internally developed machine learning techniques and toolsets.
What you will need to do in the role, and we will help you to do it:
- Managing the integration and deployments and hardware across Europe, Asia and North America.
- Furthering SRE capabilities for the group’s products
- Delivering reliable systems without wasteful operational effort
- Task automation
- Prioritizing technical debt
- Incident response and problem management
- Working closely together with a group 5 individuals in Budapest and a select team in London, New York and Tokyo
What skills and experience are essential for the position?
- Fluency in English language
- Python or Java knowledge
- Unix/Linux basic skills
- Foundational understanding of cloud native application design is an advantage
- JIRA or GIT is an advantage
- Customer and communication-oriented approach
