This page explains what this website stores in your browser and why. The short version: qualysoft.com sets no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Everything listed below is needed for the site to work, and the page-view statistics we keep store nothing in your browser, which is why you are not shown a consent banner.
What we store
Strictly necessary
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers the language you chose so the site opens in it next time. First-party, session cookie, no personal data.
- qs-theme — stores your light/dark mode preference. Kept in browser local storage, not sent to our servers.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — the spam-protection check on our contact form. While the check runs, Cloudflare may set cookies on its own domain (challenges.cloudflare.com) to tell a person from a bot. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details. Nothing is set unless you open a page with a form.
- payload-token — only for Qualysoft staff who sign in to edit the website. Visitors never receive it.
Analytics, marketing, and third-party tracking
We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-preserving service that sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page visited, the referring site, and coarse device, browser and country information. The visitor identifier is a hash of your IP address and browser that is discarded after 24 hours, so visits cannot be linked to a person or tracked across sites. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar services. Error monitoring (Sentry) receives technical crash reports only and sets no cookies. Should we ever introduce analytics that stores data in your browser, this page will be updated first and a consent banner will be shown before any such cookie is set.
How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking the cookies above does not break the site: the language falls back to English and the theme to your system preference; the contact form needs the Turnstile check to submit.
